- NC State Workshop on Allergy and Inflammation, sponsored by the CCMTR and the Immunology and Comparative Biomedical Sciences Graduate Programs. June 7, 10am-3pm, McKimmon Center. Objective: to facilitate the interaction between basic and clinical researchers at NC State, EPA, and NIEHS, working in the fields of allergy and inflammation, with the goal ultimately of translating basic science discoveries to patients, animals or humans. The workshop will include oral presentations, a poster session (with cash prizes for best posters by graduate students), and ample time for discussions and networking. Lunch and refreshments will be provided. Attendees should RSVP to liz_selisker@ncsu.edu by April 30, 2013. Presenters should submit abstracts to liz_selisker@ncsu.edu by May 24, 2013. Include title, authors, affiliation, and preference for talk or poster. Limit abstracts to 150 words. For questions, contact Dr. Scott Laster or Dr. Thierry Olivry.
- Save This Date--Oct. 15. The CCMTR is co-sponsoring a one-day symposium in partnership with UNC to discuss potential collaborations in the area of regenerative medicine. The event will be held at the NC Biotechnology Center in RTP and will focus on connecting the clinical side with the basic side, and faculty from NCSU with faculty from UNC. More information to come.
Statistical Support for CCMTR
- Dr. Emily Griffith has joined the NC State Statistics Dept, and is providing statistical consulting services to the CVM. This is a service provided as part of the Clinical Studies Core, under the CCMTR, for the next two years. Currently, she works at the CVM Mondays, Thursdays, and Wednesday morning. Her office is C203a (front of the Health and Wellness Building). Please contact her to arrange a meeting to discuss your statistical needs: emily_griffith@ncsu.edu.
