Q: What am I looking at here?

A: Welcome to the NC State CVM Class of 2013's communication board. Displayed on this page are two out of three of our communication boards with access provided to the third, each one serving a slightly different purpose.

The first board shown is a general announcement board. Here you'll find general announcements from your classmates as well as automated announcements of class calendar updates, photo submissions and comments and, soon enough, even document sharing.

The public discussion board is a forum for discourse between members of our class and other classes, other schools, faculty and administration, and anyone else related to the veterinary community who might be invited to answer questions, give insights or just share in the conversation.

Lastly, the private 2013 discussion board is closed to the public, but accessable through the link provided above. All conversations unintended for public broadcast are free to be pursued here.

Q: How do I contribute to the discussion?

A: It's easy! To add to the general announcements board, simply add an event on our class calentdar, upload or comment on a photo, or send an email to the general announcement board at: wolfpack-cvm-2013-announcements. Non-members will have their messages moderated before being posted to avoid unacceptable posts from spam-bots.

To contribute to the public forum, you can send your submission in the form of an email by emailing ncsu-cvm-2013-forum or sign up for membership to the group to be able to add a new topic or respond to a post directly from your browser. If you do send an email, keep in mind that the topic that you create will be titled after the subject line of your email. Furthermore, if you would like to respond to a post from email, simply cut and paste the desired topic into your subject line. Non-members will have their messages moderated before being posted to avoid unacceptable posts from spam-bots.

The private discussion board requires membership. If you have not signed up, please follow the instructions provided at the sign-in page. Members of NC State CVM class of 2013 only please. If you are a member of the class who is having difficulty, please contact the Webmaster.

Q: You mentioned a class calendar. I found it on this site, but I can't add an event to it. What gives?

A: The calendar displayed on the calendar page here is broadcast for easy access, but it is not editable for security reasons. But fear not, our class has its own Google account! To access the calendar (as well as the document page or the photo page) please refer to the login information provided in the following link. Please note: sign-in for the private class discussion board is required. If you would like to import our class calendar into your own calendar program, please contact the webmaster and you will receive the import information.

Q: Pictures sound fun. Where are those at?

A. A common area for the uploading of pictures into our class account is coming soon. Stay tuned. In the meantime, email the Webmaster with any pictures you would like to share and he will post them for you.

Q: I can't access the documents page. When will that be fixed?

A: Egads - I dunno. Pretty soon I hope. Keep in mind, I'm just a student like you. In fact, I just dropped a letter grade in Histo just from writing this Q&A. Soon enough, Google will be releasing some new collaboration software that will enable us to share documents and directories ever so much more gracefully. Are you as excited as I am? Doubt it.
