Professional Experience & Qualifications
- September 1989-December 2002: Full-time ambulatory equine practitioner in Belgium, Ireland and the U.K. covering all aspects of equine practice (lameness, medicine, reproduction, neonatology, etc.) mainly working with competition horses: dressage, show jumping, eventing, racing Thoroughbreds. My special interest was and still is in equine reproduction: the late pregnant mare and early neonatology. During my 13 years in practice I was also “vet on duty” at several International three day events such as the Windsor horse Trials, the International Blenheim Palace three day event and the Burghley CCI horse trials in the UK.
- February 2003-September 2004: Clinical Instructor in Equine Theriogenology at Cornell University, Ithaca, NY.
- September 2004-August 2007: Residency in Theriogenology at North Carolina State University.
- September 2007-present: Clinical Assistant professor in Theriogenology at North Carolina State University.
