The Theriogenology Faculty concentrate on equine and small animal reproduction. Two Faculty (Whitacre and Pinto) are primarily involved in clinical
service in the Veterinary Teaching Hospital for equine and small
animal clients. Two other Theriogenologists primarily work in
the Ruminant Health Management group on reproduction and production
of cattle (Farin and Floyd).
Teaching occurs in clinical rotations for senior students and a course in Theriogenology during Year 3 of the DVM curriculum. Instruction also occurs at
the Teaching Animal Unit (TAU). Electives and selective are offered
depending on student interest. The Theriogenology senior rotations
(VMF 980 and 981) are among the most popular in the CVM.
Research activites of the faculty focus on equine oocyte activation and immunocontraception.
The Theriogenology faculty also participate in Equine Reproduction Program, which includes interdisciplinary cooperation with Faculty of the Department of Clinical Sciences (DoCs).
