The
Biomedical Imaging Resource Facility is an integral
part of North Carolina State University at the College of
Veterinary Medicine in Raleigh. The Biomedical Imaging Resource
Facilitys' primary goal is to explore new and innovative methods
of biomedical research using state of the art imaging facilities,
as well as facilitate technology transfer between medical
schools and private industry through original investigations
using state of the art imaging as a standard for experimental
design. Our clinical and research faculty/staff are highly
motivated and enthusiastic. Our facility offers opportunities
for collaborative efforts, as well as many other opportunities
for private industry.

the total submission package. The phone number is 919-513-6224.
Veterinary Medical Library The Veterinary
Medical Library is a unit of The NCSU Libraries and is located
on the lower level of the College of Veterinary Medicine.
The library serves NCSU's research and teaching needs in veterinary
and biomedical sciences. State-of-the-art computerized searching
workstations and on-line networks provide users with rapid
access to the most current scientific literature. As part
of the Triangle Research Libraries Network, the library provides
access to research libraries at UNC-Chapel Hill and Duke University.
The phone number is 919-513-6218.
Clinical Pharmacology Research Laboratory
This laboratory performs quantitative analysis of drugs,
drug metabolites, and some toxins in plasma, serum, or other
tissues of animals. This laboratory, located in Room B-230,
specializes in drug assays using high performance liquid chromatography
(HPLC) with various modes of detection ( for example, UV,
EC, fluorescence, and PDA). This laboratory also has the capability
to perform analyses using gas chromatography, RIA, atomic
absorption, and mass spectrometry. Pharmacokinetic consultation
also is available. The phone number of the laboratory is 919-513-6385.
Flow Cytometry and Cell Sorting Laboratory, located in Room C-309, provides equipment
and facilities for separation of populations of cells based
on various biochemical, immunological and morphometric characteristics
of the cells. Assistance is provided for preparation of samples,
development of cell markers, interpretation of data and design
of experimental protocols. The phone number is 919-513-6443.
Laboratory Animal Resources LAR is responsible
for care of all of the animals used in teaching and research
in the College. The unit is accredited by AAALAC and provides
a diverse array of facilities for housing vertebrate and invertebrate
animals, including facilities for producing germ-free animals
and isolation facilities for animals exposed to various infectious
organisms. The phone number is 919-513-6201.
Institutional Animal Care and Use Committee: IACUC
The Mission of the Institutional Animal Care and Use Committee is to foster compliance through facilitating the efforts employed by the institution's scientists and instructors in the utilization of the animal model in research, education and other scholarly pursuits. This effort is more fully described in an expanded Mission and Scope statement of the IACUC
