ZEISS AXIOIMAGER M-1
The Zeiss Axioimager M-1 upright microscope is equipped for brightfield, darkfield, polarizing, phase contrast, differential interference contrast (DIC), and epifluorescent imaging. The Axiovision program supports a color digital camera as well as a monochrome digital camera (for epifluorescence work). The microscope is motorized and provides Z-stacking capabilities which can be used in conjunction with a set of deconvolution algorithms, allowing a 3-D volume image to be created. The Axiovision program allows three different fluorochromes to be imaged individually quickly and then assembled into a three-label image as shown below:

Bovine pulmonary artery endothelial cells (BPAEC) stained with Mitotracker Red CMXRos for mitochondria and BODIPY FL phallacidin for F-actin. (from Molecular Probes). Taken with a 40X objective.
Intestinal villi stained with hematoxylin and eosin.Taken with a 20X objective.

Toluidine Blue O stained semithin (0.5 um) section of a perfused rat kidney showing proximal tubules and glomerulus. Taken with a 40X objective.

Cladosporium hyphae. DIC. 63X objective. ----- Cladosporium hyphae. Phase Contrast. 40X objective.
