Description of the Focus Area
This focus area is designated for the student who would like to have a broad clinical education. Each student will choose an advisor, who will help to guide the choices among the selectives and electives.
Advisors
You may choose an advisor from any practice area. Be sure that the individual knows that you are interested in mixed animal practice, so that you can design a suitable plan of study.
Steps to pursue a focus in mixed animal practice
- Identify an advisor
- Take selectives that will give you a broad background and that will allow you get into your desired 4th year rotations
- Plan your summer experiences in mixed animal practice to confirm that you enjoy this area of practice
- Take the required 4th year rotations. Plan your elective blocks to gain additional experience in areas of interest.
