Please state your mailing address, how many kits you would like and which test you are requesting (Boxer ARVC, Feline HCM, Doberman DCM, Old English Sheepdog CA, Gordon Setter CA, Newfoundland Dog SAS)

Blood samples: 1-3 mls of blood in an EDTA tube may be submitted.
The sample does not need to be refrigerated during shipment, it is very stable once in the EDTA tube. Please double bag or put in secondary
container to avoid breakage and spills.

Feline Research Programs:

The Veterinary Cardiac Genetics Laboratory has several feline cardiac research studies in progress at this time. We welcome new participants that qualify for a study in progress.

Sphynx Cats

We are inviting new participants for this study. The requirements are: HCM diagnosed affected by a licensed veterinary professional and a Sphynx pedigree, or a Sphynx cat who is at least 8 years of age and who is cleared of disease. We would like to include your Sphynx in this study if it meets these requirements. DNA from your Sphynx is submitted by blood draw done by your Veterinarian or Veterinary Technician.

Bengal Cats

We are inviting new participants for this study. The requirements are: HCM diagnosed affected by a licensed veterinary professional and a pedigree, or a Bengal cat who is at least 8 years of age and who is cleared of disease. We would like to include your Bengal in this study if it meets these requirements. DNA from your Bengal is submitted by blood draw done by your Veterinarian or Veterinary Technician.

Birman Cats

We are currently looking for DNA samples from Birman cats with a diagnosis of hypertrophic caridomyopathy to advance our study to identify a gene for the disease.
