Directions
The Animal Behavior Service of the NCSU Veterinary Teaching Hospital is located in the Veterinary Referral Center, at 220 High House Road in Cary, North Carolina, just south of Raleigh. Please note that this is a satellite location of the main Veterinary Teaching Hospital in Raleigh.
Directions to the Animal Behavior Service are provided from the following locations:

From Durham, Chapel Hill, and points West of Cary
- Take I-40 East toward Durham, Cary, Raleigh.
- In the Durham area, exit on NC 55. At the bottom of the ramp, turn right on NC 55.
- Go 8.5 miles on NC 55 toward Apex.
- Turn left at High House Rd.; go 3.5 miles on High House Rd.
- Continue on High House Rd., 0.3 miles past the NW Maynard Rd. intersection.
- Look for the "Veterinary Referral Center" sign on the left.
- Turn into the driveway immediately before the sign; parking is available in front of the building.
- Enter Suite 101 through the door on the left side of the main entrance.
From Raleigh, Cary
- Take I-40 West toward the RDU airport.
- Exit at Harrison Ave. (Exit #287) and turn left at the light.
- Go 3.5 miles on Harrison Ave.
- In Cary, turn right on West Chatham St., go 0.4 miles. Stay in the right-hand lane.
- The right-hand lane of West Chatham Street becomes Old Apex Rd.
- Go 0.3 miles on Old Apex Rd.
- Turn right on High House Road; go 0.3 miles.
- Look for the "Veterinary Referral Center" sign on the right.
- Turn into the driveway immediately after the sign; parking is available in front of the building.
- Enter Suite 101 through the door on the left side of the main entrance.
From Southern Pines, Rockingham, Sanford
- Go North on U.S. 1 toward Raleigh, through Sanford and Apex
- Exit on Cary Parkway (Exit #99), turn left at the ramp light
- Go 3.4 miles on Cary Parkway, cross RR tracks.
- Turn right on Old Apex Rd., go 2.0 miles.
- Turn left on High House Road, go 0.2 miles.
- Look for "The Veterinary Referral Center" sign on your right.
- Turn right onto the driveway immediately after the sign; parking is available in front of the building.
- Enter Suite 101 through the door on the left side of the main entrance.
From Wilmington
- From Wilmington and points EAST of Raleigh:
- Take I-40 West toward Raleigh.
- Continue around Raleigh on I-40West/I-440 (inner loop of Beltline toward the airport and Durham).
- Exit at Harrison Ave. (Exit #287) and turn left at the light.
- Go 3.5 miles on Harrison Ave.
- Turn right on West Chatham St., go 0.4 miles. Stay in the right-hand lane.
- The right-hand lane of West Chatham Street becomes Old Apex Rd.

From NCSU College of Veterinary Medicine Veterinary Teaching Hospital
- Exit right onto Hillsborough Street, continue past the Fairgrounds
- Remain on Hillsborough Street; Hillsborough St. becomes East Chatham Street.
- In "Old Town" Cary, East Chatham becomes West Chatham Street. Remain in the right lane.
- The right-hand lane of West Chatham Street becomes Old Apex Rd.
- Go 0.3 miles on Old Apex Rd.
- Turn right on High House Road; go 0.3 miles.
- Look for "The Veterinary Referral Center" sign on your right.
- Turn right onto the driveway immediately after the sign; parking is available in front of the building.
- Enter Suite 101 through the door on the left side of the main entrance.
