The Oncology service is a referral-only service. Once the primary veterinarian calls and sets up the referral, the owner may call and arrange an appointment. If the patient has been seen by our service recently, owners may call Oncology directly to set up an appointment.

Emergencies involving oncology patients that need to be seen after hours are received by the Small Animal Emergency Service. Emergency appointments during regular business hours are seen directly by the Oncology service when appropriate.

Initial Evaluation and Staging

Level I: $400 - $600  Includes:

  • Consultation
  • Complete blood count (CBC)
  • Serum biochemistry panel
  • Urinalysis (U/A)
  • Lymph node aspiration cytology
  • 3-view thoracic radiographs

Level II: $600 - $800 Includes:

  • Consultation
  • Complete blood count (CBC)
  • Serum biochemistry panel
  • Urinalysis (U/A)
  • Lymph node aspiration cytology
  • 3-view thoracic radiographs
  • Abdominal sonogram

Level III: $1200-1400 Includes:

  • Consultation
  • Complete blood count (CBC)
  • Serum biochemistry panel
  • Urinalysis (U/A)
  • Lymph node aspiration cytology
  • 3-view thoracic radiographs
  • Abdominal sonogram
  • CT scan

Undiagnosed External Tumors: $400-600 Includes:

  • Consultation
  • Complete blood count (CBC)
  • Serum biochemistry panel
  • Urinalysis (U/A)
  • Lymph node aspiration cytology
  • Biopsy

Radiation Therapy

  • Pre-operative radiation therapy: $3500- $4500
  • Post-operative radiation therapy: $4000-$5000
  • Half-body radiation therapy (for lymphoma): $700-$900 per half
  • Palliative radiation therapy:
    • $1000-1200 for first treatment cycle
    • $700-900 for second treatment cycle
    • $700-900 for third treatment cycle

Chemotherapy

Costs vary according to agents administered and protocol for administration.
