Small Animal Emergency Service
Mission
Implemented in the spring of 2004, the Emergency Service provides excellent care for sick or injured small animals during weekend and evening hours when the primary veterinarian is unavailable. Experienced emergency care veterinarians and interns staff the service with assistance provided by senior students and clinical technicians.
The Emergency Service offers the sophisticated equipment and facilities of the full-service Veterinary Teaching Hospital. This includes next day access to the IAMS Pet Imaging Center, the region's first magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) facility dedicated solely for use on pets and domestic animals.
No appointment or referral is necessary and medical treatment records are faxed to your primary veterinarian upon discharge. After a complete examination, our doctors will discuss treatment options and provide a cost estimate for your pet's treatment.
Please use special care when transporting a sick or injured animal. Even the sweetest pet may bite or scratch when in pain.
